Overview
Dholera Smart City is now firmly in an execution-driven stage where infrastructure delivery, industrial activation, and economic integration are visible on the ground. As of 2026, the city has transitioned from the construction phase to the operational phase — making it no longer just a blueprint, but a functional industrial ecosystem.
The Activation Area is over 95% infrastructure-ready as of 2026. Key completed elements include:
1. The Central Spine Road — a 250-meter wide road connecting the entire SIR — is 100% operational with smart street lighting and sensors fully integrated.
2. The ABCD Building, the administrative hub, is 100% functional and now monitors the city's water, traffic, and power through a centralized ICT dashboard.
3. Smart roads up to 75 metres wide with underground utilities (water, drainage, power, fibre), substations by Tata Power and Torrent Power, and a 250 MW operational solar park are supporting clean energy needs.
The 109 km long, 4-lane (expandable to 8) expressway is 92% complete, and the travel time between Ahmedabad and Dholera has officially dropped to 45–50 minutes.
The Dholera Metro Corridor from Sabarmati to Dholera is approved and expected to start construction by 2028, and a dedicated logistics hub and port link are also in progress for export-oriented industries.
The Dholera International Airport is currently in the testing and licensing stage. Calibration flights were scheduled in early 2026, with Phase 1 completion now expected around 2027.
Cargo operations are expected to begin by late 2026, followed by passenger flights. This airport will serve as a spillover for the Ahmedabad Airport, making Dholera a global logistics hub.

By 2030, Dholera will feature a fully operational international airport, industrial clusters, a live expressway, and the first residential zones.
As of April 2026, the "Risk Era" is over and the "Growth Era" has begun. Land prices have stabilized after the initial Tata announcement spike but are expected to surge again once the Airport becomes operational.
